The Junior League of Tulsa’s (JLT) Gem Gala is one of the most highly anticipated events of the League year.   This year’s Gem Gala will pick up where it left off last year with an evening on the Grand Lawn of the Tulsa Historical Society, on Saturday, April 22. The ruby was selected as this year’s gemstone theme, which will be captured featured throughout the whole event from the décor, auction items, signature cocktail, and the dress code of “ruby tie,” black tie that incorporates the ruby theme.

The evening will kick off with a VIP cocktail hour that will transition into dinner with both a live and silent auction, and conclude with an after party full of dancing and live music. The Gem Gala continues to honor a community partner who embodies the mission and values of JLT.  This year’s Community Gems for the evening are Resonance Center for Women and its Executive Director, Deidra Kirtley. Kirtley was selected based on the large impact she has made with women in the Tulsa community. As a past JLT President, current Sustainer in the League, and partner to JLT through the Resonance Center for Women, Tackett describes Kirtley as “the epitome of JLT” based on her high involvement in the League and community, with Resonance Center for Women serving as a JLT partner for several years.

Gem Gala Co-Chairs Lauren Bartlett and Madelyn Tackett have worked hard to make this year’s event a success and are enthusiastic about the work they’ve put in. Bartlett said, “The Gala was the first event I attended before deciding to join Junior League. It was so beautifully executed, and I could tell all the women were so passionate about what they were a part of. I was hooked! And now, I’m here as a Co-Chair of the Gem Gala!” Tackett described the focus of the event saying “The Gala celebrates past volunteer hours and toasts the hours we will donate in the year ahead through honoring an organization and person who embodies what our organization stands for.”

Sponsorships for the Gala are currently online and include great perks such as early check in at the event and an invitation to the VIP cocktail hour.  Individual tickets are also available at $200 per person, and after party tickets are $75 per person. The silent auction will still be available for those who purchase an after party ticket. Individual and after party tickets can be purchased through the JLT website.
