JLT's Legislative Objective

JLT's Public Affairs Committee is charged with acting as the advocacy arm of JLT. Its goals are outlined as follows:
  • encouraging, assisting, informing and empowering JLT members to be politically active citizens;
  • studying issues within Oklahoma's state Legislature related to areas of JLT interest;
  • presenting the results of those studies to JLT members when appropriate; and
  • increasing public awareness about the prevention of family violence by executing an awareness campaign through media messages and community initiatives.

Public Affairs Alert!

The 2007 Oklahoma Legislative Session opened on Monday, February 5th. Governor Brad Henry outlined an ambitious agenda in his fifth State of the State address with initiatives to strengthen education, provide greater access to adequate healthcare, create high-paying jobs, reduce crime and advance high-tech research and development.
