Gusher How to Join Facilities Rental Legislative

The Junior League of Tulsa, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.  We share this mission with the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. which is the international affiliate or parent organization of all 293 Junior Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

Thank you for visiting the website of the Junior League of Tulsa.  Welcome!
On the eve of our 85th anniversary, it is an honor to have the privilege of serving as the 2007-2008 President of the Junior League of Tulsa.  I am thrilled to work alongside the nearly 1,000 dynamic, well-educated, professional and dedicated Provisional, Active and Sustaining members who are helping to “Build a Better Community” and make great and positive changes in Tulsa.  Last year, our members donated approximately 32,000 hours or the equivalent of almost $595,000 in volunteer service.

As you might imagine, JLT has been instrumental in developing many notable community projects and has been the training ground for some of Tulsa’s most dedicated volunteers and civic leaders.  We are proud that many of the nonprofit agencies, that have been meeting Tulsa’s emerging needs for almost 85 years, were founded, in large part, due to the work of the Junior League.  From our initial 1923 project of Red Cross Flood Relief to the docent programs at the Philbrook and Gilcrease, the Arts and Humanities Council, Mayfest, Leadership Tulsa, Youth Services of Tulsa, the Oxley Nature Center, Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS), the Child Abuse Network (CAN) and the Ronald McDonald House, the Junior League of Tulsa has been enriching the lives of fellow members of our community with hope, compassion and solutions.

Our focus area is “Women and Children in Transition” and our current community projects range from done-in-a-day outreach projects to collaboration with the Child Abuse Network (CAN), Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) and the Laura Dester Center and the establishment of our “Signature Project”- the Children’s Hospital at St. Francis Family Resource Center.

Thank you for your interest in JLT.  We invite you to browse through our website and learn more about the Junior League of Tulsa and how you can join us in “Building a Better Community”.

Sincerely,

Patty Lawson
President
